Funny, but policies for one area don't always work for another. For instance, independence may make sense for Scotland, but would it make sense for Leith?
In this case I'm told that what was being proposed was just a single line to Kirkby, a route which already has a decent rail connection.
Now, our current local maladministration is likely to leave the city with just a single line, which won't be as useful as the network originally proposed.
But still, trams are six times better than buses for getting folk out of their cars, and by the time they've been open a year they'll be popular as hell and SNP councillors will be queuing up to take credit for delivering the first line.
So I guess the greens now admit the single line they voted for in edinburgh - on a route which already has decent public transport - and will serve folk who AREN'T using cars - is indeed a waste of money?

Sophia When you voted.....
1920 plebiscite was it? But surely women didn't have a vote then? You must be the oldest sex-change person alive!!
Ah, Anonymous person, Leith continues to maintain its independence in so many ways!
