I call for more! Alistair Darling should make it clear now what Government support HBoS would get if the vote was to plough a lone furrow. Hornby and co should also be making clear how the internal situation of the bank has changed since the Lloyds TSB ram-raid was announced.

I know we've not always seen eye to eye on topics regarding the law, but I thought you might be interested in this - and if there is anything you can do to bring to the attention of your colleagues in the SNP and the parliamentary party it would be a great service to Scots law. The UK government is trying to remove the right of the Court of Session to hear judicial review in asylum cases (from what I understand). They apparently consulted on this - but as you will see from http://www.jonathanmitchell.info/2008/12/05/consultation-united-kingdom-government-style/ this consultation neglected to actually approach the Scottish courts, the Scottish legal profession, those that deal with immigration cases in Scotland, or many others. The effect would be that Scottish residents seeking asylum would have to raise their actions down south and could not use Scots law. Thus far there seems to have been little fuss kicked up about it - aside from Jonathan Mitchell and the Lord President (the latter of whom sought an extention to the consultation period that the UK government refused). Scots law has been treated really shoddily in this process, the draft bill which will implement it has been announced in the Queen's Speech and it's not clear if the Labour MPs or MSPs would be sticking up for the Scottish system.
I know it's an odd request - but if you can bring it to the eye of some people in your party it would be really helpful.
